Parvathy was the 2nd runner-up in the Miss World Top Model contest that was held on December 3, 2008.

The last time India won the Miss World title was in 2000 when Priyanka Chopra was declared the Miss World 2008 winner.

20-year-old Parvathy Omanakuttan is the winner of the Miss India 2008 contest. She was born in Changanassery, Kottayam, Kerala and now lives in India’s financial capital Mumbai.

arvathy has completed her graduation in English Literature. Her other subjects included sociology and psychology. Parvathy Omanakuttan plans to study Psychology further, do modeling assignments, and work in films if she gets the opportunity.

Parvathy Omanakuttan has said that she loves her mother’s cooking, though she likes to sample cuisines from different parts of the world. Parvathy who is in South Africa right now, has even tried her hand at cooking Zuku dishes.
Parvathy’s motto “Dream with your eyes open” is inspired by a quote from former President of India, Dr Abjul Kalam that “Dreams are not what you see in your sleep, but dreams are that, which do not allow you to sleep.”

NRI who made a mark with her debut movie 'Venella', has stunned Tollywood audience with her dare and bare look in the recent 'Game'.
The girl with her western outlook can't understand why a kiss is stirring passions among Tollywood stars.
"After all locking lips on screen is as easy as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5", she says.
"I don't know why people here dare not enough about the whole kissing business in Tollywood. In the West it is as common as Sun rises in the morning. A kiss is the most natural way to express your feelings when you are happy, thrilled or in love. People kiss all the time and no one even raises an eyebrow at such public display of affection. And Hollywood films reflect this carefree attitude for a smooch. Why should a couple not kiss if they are in love?" says Parvathi Milton who is still making waves with her sizzling numbers from Game.
According to Parvathi, the Telugu film industry may have only itself to blame for the kiss-off from the audience: "It would be impossible to shoot a love story in Hollywood without incorporating a kiss. But since that's not happening here, I am forced to wonder why. Two reasons come to mind - it could be that film stars don't know how to kiss for the camera and second I really shouldn't be saying this, but of late filmmakers have reduced human emotions to mere titillation. A kiss has become something cheap and vulgar.
Since few measures up to Parvathi's exacting standards, her list of favorite Hollywood kisses is alarmingly long.
Coming to Bollywood, she says, "Imran Hashmi's lip-lock in every movie looked very nice. He is terrific - so subtle yet focused. . But apart from him, I can't think of any one else in the Indian film industry who got their kisses tight".

India’s Parvathy Omanakuttan narrowly missed out on winning the Miss World 2008 crown which went to Russia’s Ksenya Sukhinova at a glittering African extravaganza held in Johannesburg on Saturday.
“Miss World 2008 is Russia,” announced Julia Morley, head of the Miss World committee that organises the event.
Twenty one-year-old Parvathy, who hails from Kottayam in Kerala, finished first runner up and failed to join five Indian glamour queens Reita Faria (1966), Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan (1994), Diana Hayden (1997), Yukta Mookhey (1999) and Priyanka Chopra (2000) who had won the title.
This was the first time in eight years that an Indian reached the finals of the Miss World competition.
Parvathy, who had won this year’s Miss Femina contest in April, said she was happy that she could go this far in the contest but was disappointed a little at not having won the crown.
“I had expected that I will win. But there is a little disappointment. After many years, India reached the top five. It’s been eight years since an Indian has reached the finals of Miss World contest and this makes me happy,” Parvathy said.
“But I cannot say that I’m very happy as I had expected to win. I’m a little disappointed. But it is said that destiny has a big role to play in one’s life and God might have something better in stock for me,” the Kerala girl told NDTV.
The second runner up was Gabriel Walcott of Trinidad and Tobago. More than 100 international beauties participated in this year’s Miss World pageant hosted by South Africa.
